Scrimmage

The 7th grade and 8th grade volleyball teams will scrimmage Clover Middle School on Thursday, Sept. 2.   The scrimmage will be at Oakridge with 7th grade starting approximately 4:00.  The 8th grade team will play afterwards.  The scrimmage is free to attend and will be strictly a scrimmage with coaches conducting as officials.

8th Grade Players Working Hard in Practice

The 8th grade players have been working very hard during practice.  We have especially been working on being more aggressive at the net and focusing on three hits.  Our goal is to improve on a daily basis and peak at the end of the season for the Conference Tournament in October. 
Each player will have a specific role and work daily on overall skills.  I am pleased to be the 8th grade coach this year and the opportunity to work with an excellent group of athletes.

Order Form

Purchasing any of the volleyball items are optional for all players.  If interested please fill out the order form (use the back if necessary) and return by Monday, August 30th.  I will place the order after practice on Monday so they will get back soon (approximately 10 days).  The payment for the order must accompany the form making the checks out to Oakridge Middle School.  Any questions please feel free to contact me.

Parent Meeting

Congratulation to the girls who made the 8th grade volleyball team.  The Coach/Parent/Player meeting will be Monday, August 23 at 6:00 p.m. in the gym.

August 23 - August 27 - Practice 4:00 - 6:00

The team will practice on all Fridays.

Blog Spot for 8th Grade Volleyball

I created this blog spot for communication between parents, players, and coach associated with Oakridge 8th grade volleyball team.  This site is for informational purposes, not for comments concerning players, games, coaching decisions, etc... 
My goal for creating this web page is to communicate with parents items such as practice schedule times and days, game day information like departure and estimated time of return, meetings, etc.

Please keep all comments positive as I promise to encourage and be positive as a coach.

Try-Outs

Oakridge Middle School 8th grade try-outs will start on Monday, August 16 from 3:00-5:00 in the school gym.
8th grade students interested in trying out for the team must have a current physical before they are allowed to participate.  Physical forms and parent permission forms are available in the school front office.
The try-out process will last for 3 days.
